SUNDOG WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL GUEST DIRECTOR, AGATHA JAYAWARDENA

Agatha began her artistic career in textiles and visual arts. She took an interest in theatre as a way to strengthen the voices of those that may not otherwise be heard. She has a passion for human connection and has travelled from Colombo, Sri Lanka to explore our interactive style of theatre.

JOTI JANDA JOINS VANCOUVER FILM SCHOOL

May 1, 2022

Sundog Artist, Joti Janda will be moving to Vancouver, Canada in September of this year to join Vancouver Film School.


You may recognize Joti from Sundog Productions such as Frank and Everybody Loves Raita. She will also be bringing her energy and talents to lead the cast in Alice in Wonderland. She will play Alice in Calgary’s East Village in August 2022, before her big send off.

Congratulations Joti, we wish you the best!

YASMIN KHAN WINS AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING NEW WORK

Yasmin Khan’s new work, Everybody Loves Raita premiered at the One Act Play Festival on March 17, 2022. 


Stage and screen actor, David Hansom, was the festival adjudicator this year. He awarded Yasmin’s story Outstanding New Work.

ENJOY THREE EVENINGS OF FUN AT THE ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL

Sundog Storytellers will be participating in Alberta Drama Festival Association‘s 37th Annual One Act Play Festival at The Pumphouse Theatre from March 16 to 18.

DRAMATURGE, EVANGELINE FERNANDO, JOINS SUNDOG STORYETELLERS

Evangeline Fernando will be adding her talent and creativity to our collective!


Evangeline is based in London, England. She has been passionate about the performing arts from a young age and more recently, she has taken a particular interest in supporting emerging artists. As an actor, singer, dancer, and dramaturge, Evangeline has had a wide variety of experiences on stage. She particularly enjoyed playing the lead roles in Mobile Phone Show and Wuthering Heights.

SUNDOG PROUDLY ANNOUNCES A NEW COLLABORATION WITH FLC ACTING CLUB

Sundog Storytellers is excited to partner with FLC Seniors Acting Club to present Frank, an unforgettable story. The FLC Seniors Acting Club creates a variety of learning experiences in live theatre from traditional to not so traditional acting forms and techniques. They endeavour to give 55+ adults foundational training as well as a deeper understanding of how live theatre works.

NEW DIRECTOR, MYRIAM NICKEL,
JOINS SUNDOG STORYTELLERS

Myriam Nickel will add her talent and expertise to direct Frank, playing in March at Pumphouse Theatre. 


Frank is a fresh look on agesim in our culture. Perspectives shift when a group of retirees, living in a care home, share breakfast together every day. The star of the show is a former RAF pilot, Frank, who entertains them with outlandish stories. A visitor to the home thinks that Frank's wild stories are a product of his imagination and dementia but they are so much more...

TETHERED IS BACK FOR A SECOND SEASON

November 1, 2021

In 2021 Sage Theatre and the IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists supported the initial development of Tethered. this engaging performance in 2021.​ Daniel J. Perryman, Jennifer Poppe, and Xia Sun created an immersive experience in which the audience followed the show through the park. Each step through the landscape took the audience further back in time.
